Here is a revised version of your FundRazr campaign that includes the invitation for the public to search the listed criminal cases involving David Siers via the Clerk of the Cook County Circuit Court:

⚖️ PROJECT STORY

We are a group of childhood sexual abuse survivors and eyewitnesses preparing to file a major civil lawsuit against the Chicago Board of Education, the City of Chicago, the Illinois State Board of Education, Cook County, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services—institutions that failed to protect children from a known predator: David Siers.

In 1986, a young boy attempted suicide after being molested by Siers, a fifth-grade teacher at Spencer Elementary School. That disclosure triggered a Chicago Police Department investigation, later referred to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, which convened a grand jury.

But during the entire three-month investigation, David Siers was never removed from his classroom.

Credible witnesses confirm he continued to abuse other boys during that period. In 1987, he was convicted of sexually abusing twelve boys. Still, no internal investigations followed. No outreach was made to identify additional victims. No support was offered to those who came forward.

Instead, institutions chose silence—and concealment.

Through FOIA responses, these same agencies now claim no records exist regarding Siers' employment or discipline. Yet we uncovered proof that ISBE re-certified David Siers in 1988—while he was serving time for child sexual abuse.

🔎 PUBLIC RECORDS YOU CAN VERIFY

If you want to see the scope of the criminal charges against David Siers for yourself, we invite you to conduct a public case search via the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County (https://www.cookcountyclerkofcourt.org):

Below are twelve criminal cases in which David Siers was the defendant:

  • 86CR-10245

  • 86CR-10825

  • 86CR-9032

  • 86CR-9111

  • 86CR-9392

  • 86CR-9393

  • 86CR-9394

  • 86CR-9460

  • 86CR-9462

  • 86CR-9787

  • 86CK958

  • 864CS959

These are just the cases that were prosecuted. Many more victims were never identified or came forward too late.

🔍 A STRONG CASE. A PERSONAL MISSION.

Over the past year, we’ve conducted extensive research and developed robust legal filings for both state and federal court.

We consulted with several attorneys. While all agreed that we have a legitimate and powerful case, none were willing to take it on due to the time that has passed. So, we’ve decided to go forward ourselves—armed with facts, law, and survivor testimony.

We are not unprepared. We are bringing:

📂 FOIA documents from CPS, ISBE, DCFS, and CPD
📝 Sworn affidavits from multiple survivors and eyewitnesses—including one from a licensed clinical school social worker who was also Siers’ former student
⚖️ Federal and Illinois case law supporting tolling of the statute of limitations
🗞 Active and growing media interest—including coverage from the Chicago Tribune, and outreach to national investigative reporters

💰 WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are raising $1,500 to cover:

🏛 Filing fees in both Cook County ($367 filing fee, $212.50 jury fee) and Federal court ($405 filing fee)
📬 Service of process on over 7 institutional defendants (6 defendants X $60= $360 in the state case and 4 defendants x $60 in the federal case= $240)
📑 Printing, notarization, and certified mailing of exhibits and affidavits
💌 Support for one plaintiff currently incarcerated, including document delivery and legal coordination

We are prepared to file no later than July 29, 2025. These modest costs are the final step before launch.

🔁 WHAT HAPPENS IF WE WIN?

If we are successful—whether through settlement or court-awarded damages—we are committed to refunding every dollar donated to this campaign.

These donations are not for personal gain. Every cent will be used to fund the pursuit of justice: to hold institutions accountable, force public transparency, and give survivors their long-overdue day in court.

📢 TRANSPARENCY AND UPDATES

We will provide regular updates to our donors throughout this legal process. From filings to FOIA responses to court appearances—you’ll be kept in the loop every step of the way. Your trust and your support are deeply valued.

🚨 WHY THIS CASE MATTERS

This is not just about one man—it’s about the systems that allowed him to thrive and hurt children even while under investigation.

While survivors still suffer in silence, David Siers is still alive.

Our lawsuit is the first to challenge these institutions and demand accountability under the law. And it is the beginning of a broader effort to shine a light on other cases CPS and the State of Illinois have buried.

We are fighting:

  • For survivors who were never told the truth

  • For families who trusted public schools to protect their children

  • For communities tired of cover-ups and cowardice

🙏 HOW YOU CAN HELP

💵 Donate any amount — $10 helps print documents, $40 serves one defendant, $100 files a complaint
📣 Share this campaign with survivor advocates, journalists, and legal justice networks
🗂 Spread awareness about the Cook County cases above and demand answers

We are no longer afraid. With your help, we will file this case, expose the institutions that enabled abuse, and begin the long-overdue process of justice and healing.
