My beloved Husky, Fig, is in need of life-saving treatment. She is currently undergoing diagnostics and a blood transfusion at Urgent Vets in Middlesboro. She will be hospitalized there for 3 days. We will know more when the diagnostics are done, but this is what we know now.

Yesterday, Fig stopped eating, on me. She had a deer chew, and wouldn't eat after that. I got a little bit of goat milk in her, later in the day, but that was it. She vomited overnight, and it was yellow (liver).

I knew I had to get her seen today. Her regular Vet was in surgery, and couldn't see her until 3, so we saw Dr. Gallant, who has seen Fig before.

She did blood work on Fig. Three of Fig's liver values are elevated, and her platelets are bottoming out. We recently went through something like this with Fig, including hospitalization, and it was her gallbladder causing all the trouble. She said Fig needed a blood transfusion, and we didn't want to go to Knoxville, so she sent us to Urgent Vets.

So as of right now, the plan is to get her stabilized at Urgent Vets, so that if it IS the gallbladder again, she can have surgery to get it removed. That will happen at her Vet, Russell Vet, with Dr. Ramsey.

Urgent Vets has to be paid upfront, and God knows, I do not have money to do that, so we had to finance it. We financed $2700.00, but if her treatment costs less than that, they will refund the amount not needed. I need help to pay that, and her bill from Russell today. I already paid them, but couldn't afford to.

I will add info, as we know. I am not including the cost of surgery at this point, until we know more, just the amount we need for Urgent Vets, and what I paid Russell Vet, today.

I do have donations on the old Fundraiser for Ace and Fig that will also help. Ace is good now. Stitch removal is no charge. But Fig needs a LOT of help! So I will be closing the old one, and this will go up instead.
