Help Francine in her fight against Cancer! * Cancer Sucks!
Last year, Francine was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer that had spread all over her abdominal area. She endured a long 9 hour surgery at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla & was in the hospital for 10 days. Just when Francine was cleared to go home, the alarms sounded & she had to have a second emergency surgery due to bowel complications. She had parts of major organs removed & she left the hospital with a Wound Vac and a Colonoscopy Bag. She then had 6 months of chemo treatments that left her exhausted, sick & in tremendous pain. Francine had great care by her amazing boyfriend Roy & the in-home nurses that came by twice a week to help.
On March 17, 2014, she was told that she was cancer FREE! Very excited that she had a second chance, she worked on eating healthy, building her strength & enjoying life again! After a great summer, she heard the awful news that the cancer had returned. This time it has spread to other organs & in her pelvis bone.
On December 3, 2014, Francine had the first treatment in her second round of chemo. She is unable to work & is hoping to be approved for a very recently FDA approved expensive cancer drug that her doctor has recommended. She is hoping to get insurance approval on this new "Life-Changing" cancer drug which she will need to be administered twice a month for the rest of her life.
Francine attended Collier Jr High & Point Loma High School - "Class of 1979" & she owned the Bull & Bear Bar & Grill in La Jolla!
