I am begging for help for Sue Rountree who, as always, puts herself out there and steps up in overwhelming situations, when no one else does!! And does so without knowing if anyone will help her with fostering, permanent homes or funds.
From Sue - "Here's the situation: A couple that fed a lot of cats and I TNR'd many of them recently died. There are now 20 spayed/ neutered cats in their house, unknown number of adult cats outside that haven't been spayed/ neutered and about 15 kittens of all ages outside also. Some very small, some two months old and friendly and other ages in between. The lady who cared for the couple called me to say she can't continue to feed all these cats and wanted my help. She called the SPCA and is waiting for them to return her call. I told her whatever she does DO NOT give the cats to the SPCA. I told her it would be a death sentence for the cats. I told her to call local farms & barns to see if any of the cats could be relocated. She said she would but the whole situation is overwhelming to her. There are only about 6 indoor cats that are friendly enough for adoption. My problem is between me and my friend who helps me foster, we took in 6 litters last weekend and it was all unplanned. I would have no problem trying to get the kittens from this situation but I have no place for them. I asked my sister to call farms & barns and she called several today with no takers yet. Can you two spread the word that I need to find places where I could relocate the cats to and I need fosters or, more ideally, rescues who could take the kittens? I would have no problem going out to get the cats and I'll pay to have the cats spayed/ neutered that haven't been. I really don't want this to be a situation that we can't clean up because we could make a great impact if we can do right by these cats."
This is a big financial undertaking and although Sue will pay for it all herself, if anyone can pitch in any amount to help with all the expenses she is incurring for this overwhelming number of cats, it would be greatly appreciated. Remember Sue does this day in and day out all over Pinellas County. She traps constantly, gets them sterilized and cares for them while they recover. She finds homes for kittens since they are able to be socialized. She does all of this at her own expense.
You can donate on this site, or send a check directly to the Animal Health Care Clinic (Dr. Supow) to SUE ROUNTREE’S ACCOUNT. You can call in a donation at 727-446-5501 or mail a check to the Clinic at 2118 Drew Street, Clearwater, FL 33765. Please make sure to note it's for Sue Rountree's account.
We also need help with fostering and adopters. If you can help with that please contact Sue at suewilroy@gmail.com.
