On August 26th, 2024, our dear friends Dean and Martin experienced a shocking tragedy when their home of over 10 years was destroyed. The apartment they were renting collapsed due to nearby construction, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. This space wasn't just a place to live—it was the heart of their lives, filled with memories and treasures. Along with their clothing, furniture, and other possessions, they also lost Dean's meticulously restored historical instruments, as well as the priceless family heirlooms Martin had cherished. All of it is now gone.
As of August 27th 2024, Dean and Martin have been moved to a temporary apartment as they try to pick up the pieces. But the task ahead of them feels overwhelming, as they grapple with the loss of not just their belongings but also the sense of security they’d built over the past decade. They need all the support they can get as they try to overcome what seems insurmountable.
August 29th 2024 - Dean & Martin are incredibly thankful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and generosity from the community and across the world. They are going day to day with the next steps following the loss of their home and are slowly recounting all their possessions for insurance purposes.

August 30th 2024 - Dean and Martin were allowed a rare opportunity to salvage a few valuable items from their home before the official demolition today. Journalist Toula Drimonis at CULT MTL connected with the residents of the building, including Dean, Martin and myself (Keith Fernandez) and we shared words on the power of your contributions and coming together as a community.
August 31st, 2024 - In just three days, we’ve surpassed our goal, thanks to your incredibly generous donations. The fundraiser will remain open for those who wish to contribute further to Dean and Martin’s journey to rebuild. Your continued support will help cover immediate expenses and aid in their long-term recovery. We’re deeply grateful for your kindness.
Every contribution, big or small, will help them restart. Please consider donating and spreading the word on social media, Facebook, Instagram etc. Let's come together as a community to help them find hope and stability again.
