Many years ago, when life was so different, I was blessed to have a family that was filled with love and loyalty. However, it was also a home filled with harsh struggles and financial burden on my father, who worked tirelessly to provide for us three kids and my mother. As a young girl, I watched my father work day in and day out, never complaining, always putting his family first. He taught me the importance of hard work, good morals, and values, and instilled in me a strong faith in God. But unfortunately, life took a turn for the worst. I lost my two siblings and my mother, leaving me alone with my father. Despite his own pain and grief, my father continued to work hard and provide for me without any help from anyone. He was my rock during those difficult times, always there for me, never giving up on me. However, as I grew older, I made some bad choices. I turned to drugs and escorting, and my relationship with my father suffered. I only saw him when I needed money or his help, and I could see the disappointment and hurt in his eyes. I knew he needed me, especially during those tough times, but I was selfish and trapped in my addiction. One of the last times I saw my dad, he shared with me his two wishes. He wanted to see his daughter sober again and to know that his granddaughter, whom he had been raising for my sister, would have a safe and loving family to finish raising her. These were the two things he longed for before he passed, and I could see the pain in his eyes as he spoke. It has been many years since then, and I have learned many lessons and struggled through my addiction. But I am proud to say that I am now two years clean, engaged, and no longer homeless or escorting. Each day, I am working hard to better myself and make my father proud. But now, my father is ill with late stages of lung cancer. He is still raising my niece in California, and I live in Arizona. I have a dream that I desperately want to fulfill - to spend my father's last days with him and prepare to bring my niece home to be raised by me in a safe and loving environment, just like my father always wanted. I want him to pass with peace in his heart, knowing that we will be okay. But I need your help. I have looked into travel expenses, including a rental car, hotel stay, and miscellaneous expenses, and it is simply not affordable for me while still being able to pay my bills. I am pleading for your help to make this dream a reality. I cannot bear the thought of not being there for my father in his final days and not being able to bring my niece home to start a new chapter in our lives. My voice may sound persuasive, but my heart is genuine.
