Hi, my name is Jessie. I am starting this campaign because I am currently going through one of the hardest times of my life and need to ask for help.
I recently lost my fiancé, Pablo—the love of my life and the person with whom I shared the last four years. We lived together and planned to get married this year. I never imagined we would need legal documentation to prove our relationship, because our dream was always to marry, build a life together, and grow old. You always think there is more time than there actually is.
After he passed away—on top of the grief of losing my whole world, the person with whom I expected to share my future—I found myself facing various financial responsibilities and obligations alone. I chose to take on certain expenses because I didn't want that stress and burden to fall on his family; I wanted to help in any way I could. He deserves that and more. I love him so much that the very idea of leaving these expenses and debts to them is unthinkable to me—not even for a moment. They don't deserve that. If you had known him, I am sure you would feel the same way.
- I currently have approximately $5,700 USD in outstanding debts and financial commitments, including amounts owed to financial institutions and people close to us, as well as other outstanding funeral expenses.
- I have tried to stay afloat by working and looking for ways to generate more income, but unfortunately, my earnings—even with two full-time jobs—haven't been enough to cover all these obligations while also meeting my basic living expenses.
During this time, I have received a great deal of emotional support and love from Pablo’s family; I have no family and have always been alone, but they welcomed me as one of their own. One of my biggest worries is ending up passing on a financial burden that isn't theirs to bear—a burden I know they wouldn't be able to afford. It is incredibly hard for me to ask for help, but I am drowning in debt, and the situation—combined with my depression—is pushing me to the point where I want to leave this world to be with the person I love. I have reached out to various institutions, explained my situation, and asked for more time, but they haven't been able to help.
That is why I am turning to you for help. Any amount—no matter how small—can help me lighten this burden and start regaining some stability. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign also means a great deal to me.
