Urgent Aid Needed for Our Community!
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Our beloved town of Igrejinha, RS, is enduring one of the most challenging times in its history. Following catastrophic floods that raised the Paranhana River over 8 meters, the familiar landscape of our town has drastically changed. Entire neighborhoods are submerged, homes stand empty, and hearts are filled with despair.
🙏 We are launching the "SOS Igrejinha - RS" campaign to gather essential resources for our neighbors who have lost everything.
Your donations will directly support:
- Blankets (very low temperatures are coming in the next
couple of days, as we enter winter);
- Basic furniture
(dozens of houses still don't have any basic furniture like
table, mattress, stove and sink/cabinet);
- Vital
cleaning supplies;
- Critical residential infrastructure
repairs, including plumbing and minimum electricity;
In this critical moment, every bit of help counts. As the waters recede, the immense challenges of rebuilding become evident. Markets have been closed for days, limiting access to supplies. Schools remain shut, and water supply is slowly being restored, but many essential structures are severely damaged.
👫 We witnessed around 80% of our town submerged. Many were surprised by the water's reach. Now, it's our turn to lend a hand. Let's help Igrejinha rise again, restore hope, and rebuild homes.
