Please help me.
I'm Ada, nickname Shino. I'm an artist, writer, and an aspriring comic artist and game designer.
I am also disabled - I'm mentally ill, living with depression (plus depressive episodes), anxiety, ADHD. And I need to leave my home.
Because of my disability, I live with my parents, or rather - my mom and her boyfriend (I'm not eligible for any welfare under Polish law). They're terrible alcoholics, and regularly go on drinking binges that last weeks, if not months. They're decent people when they're sober... but lately, this has been rarer and rarer. When they're drunk, they're absolutely reprehensible. Verbally abusive, physically abusive (I've been beaten up multiple times by the mom's boyfriend, and mom once almost attempted to destroy door to my room with an axe - luckily it didn't happen), they extort money from me for booze, make me go buy said booze for them, and even steal from me.
Not only that, but my depressive episodes are pretty severe and disabling, to the point where I can't get out of bed. And the kicker is - the trigger for those episodes? Their alcoholic binges, without a fail. It's almost funny, in a twisted way. I'm on antidepressants, but they only help so much, and I missed several psychiatrist appointments because of their drinkings - because of the depressive episodes mostly... but lately I simply didn't have bus money to go to the nearby town where the psychiatrist is - because they drank through it all. I couldn't even afford bus fare.
Last November I suffered from a serious mental breakdown because of another of their drinking binges, worse than before (previously I've been hospitalized in a psych ward multiple times because of their binges). It took me two months to recover, but my recovery been interrupted with - more drinking. Since then, their drinking has just been getting worse and worse, and reached its peak in what is happening now:
They've been drinking, with short breaks, since 25th January. It's 5th of April now. At this point, we've ran out of all our money TWICE. For the last month, I've been supporting this family as the sole breadwinner with art commissions and e-begging. We have no money, little food beyond whatever remains in the pantry, and our pets have been reduced to eating pasta or porridge with oil, because we can't afford dog food anymore. During that period we've had no hot water, or even heating (in WINTER.)
I spent most of the time since January in a constant severe depressive episode - it takes me two weeks to recover from one, and within last two+ months they've never been sober that long. I can't live like this, this is insane.
My mental health isn't helped by the fact that I'm completely pre-transition in any manner. I wanted to look for a therapist to start looking into hormone therapy, but this has been derailed by this drinking binge.
There is only one option - I need to leave. The funny thing, is when they're not drinking, I'm feeling the best I did in years. I'm very active and productive, partially because I've been going to a therapy center, and partially because I'm on a new medication. I'm certain that if I was able to get away from their drinking, I could manage to live a normal life.
To do that - I need your help. I live in Poland, where living costs are way lower than in a lot of Europe or North America. All I need, and all I'm asking for, is 1500 dollars. I need 500 dollars to immediately straighten out my immediate issues and problems before moving out (and also because we don't actually have any money for food anymore) - while here, 1000 dollars is actually enough for a security deposit and two months rent for a rented room. If I get away from them for two months, I could easily recover to normal, and find a job - and carry on with my life.
But I can't do that alone. If I look for a job right now, I will just get fired when they get drunk - and as a result, I will suffer the next episode and will be unable to work. Being able to gather a larger sum of money in these circumstances seems impossible. Nobody in my family wants to help me, and I have no friends in Poland.
Please help me. Anything helps. Even one dollar is something, that would be a loaf of bread in Poland. And if you can't spare even that - please share this campaign. Repost, retweet, whatever you can think of. Only you can help me get a normal, decent life.
Please.
