- Disabled from shooting in 2014

 - Hand was broken during current arrest
-He was refused medical treatment for 14 days then told it was too late.
-Seneca county jail is not honoring grievances or medical restrictions needed.  -We would love it if there's someone who can help us bring attention to the misconduct at the Seneca County Jail

- Slandered by media with many inaccuracies surrounding incident and current arrest.

- Any monetary donations will be used for attorney fees, bail, to hire expert witnesses and a Private Investigator.

Detail of events

Hi we are the family of Jeron Sutton. He is currently sitting in the Seneca County jail in the very small town of Tiffin Ohio. Jeron is a father, son, uncle, brother and husband who is incarcerated for some very serious crimes that he did not commit that has his life on the line.  On January 3rd 2020,  Ron was arrested And charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and having weapons under disability  which could send him to prison for life if wrongly convicted.

He is the prime example of a young man who was the victim of circumstance, social biases, and systematic errors. Born into an impoverished broken home as many economically challenged minorities are,  Jeron made decisions as a lost young adult that he has paid the consequences for several times over. His transformation is beyond commendable. But sadly his past is the primary reason they are trying to pin these charges on him today.

Jeron not only served time for his immature decisions, but is still paying everyday because of the stigma associated with being a felon; although 12 years has passed since the conviction. So much in fact that he has had Officers harass him to the point of threatening his life on multiple occasions. He has been profiled, pulled over, and searched so many times we have lost count! He purchased his first new vehicle last year and had the inside torn apart and searched multiple times only to find nothing at all! In 2014 while stopped at a stop sign he was shot 5 times and because one of the perpetrators left a weapon behind after he fought them off and drove himself to the hospital, TPD still harrassed him about the weapon not concerned with his injuries. This incident alone caused him no doubt to have  PTSD and little faith in the judicial system. Just recently he had a gun pulled on him by police officers who verbalized that they would kill him. This incident was crucial because after going to internal affairs about it, he was told that the officer had on no body cam; therefore nothing could be done.

 Current Issue

These new charges are stemming from an incident in a the small town of Fostoria Ohio. He is accused of being involved with the the death of a close friend, who was shot and killed. Jeron is innocent of the accused crimes, yet he is being mistreated, neglected and denied basic human rights in the jail. As far as the police department and media is concerned he is already guilty. Everything about the entire case has been rather faulty from the beginning. Being that he has not went to trial yet I cannot share a huge amount of detail, but  I can tell you what I learned from the police and news outlets:  a home in fostoria was broken in to,  the homeowner shot and killed one intruder, and it was immediately said by news that he also shot a second intruder and that that intruder ran away. The fostoria police department are charging Jeron as the second intruder. There is literally no physical evidence to place him in the home at all because he was not there. The police asked him to come to the station for questions and he went willingly and fully cooperated with their investigation. While he was there answering questions, they sent armed officers to his home, knowing his wife was at work and only his children were there, to bust through the door and destroy it in their faces. All while lying to them saying both their parents knew they were coming. They terrified these children to death. Aged 14 down to 5 this is something that traumatized them and could have been deadly. Some primary things they were looking for were weapons and bloody clothes (since the other intruder was shot I'm assuming) Of course they found none of those items. This all happened in October of 2019. Jeron was ultimately released. At that point he and his family have been trying to move on with their lives after such a traumatic ordeal. While trying to do this they had no idea that Jeron was still even a person of interest. After all they examined him physically,  questioned his wife, children and him and collected no physical evidence from their home, or the scene. Unbeknownst to Jeron and his family they were still actively trying to charge him and had indicted him in December on the above charges. He literally had no clue he was indicted or had a warrant until the day after the police arrested him and his face was plastered on every news outlet. The media painted the picture that he was fleeing from them due to having murder charges. Which again was not true. He was already stopped at a stop sign. He looked up, saw a gun in his mirror through his tinted window and sped off without looking back. He had no idea what was going on and was scared for his life.As we already explained he has been pulled over and harassed on several occasions. Not once had he not pulled over or attemptted to flee from law enforcement.  None of this was stated or shown on the news at all.  Ron had been waking up taking the kids to and from school and working daily.  At this point we are convinced that not only is evidence being planted and/or tampered with, but that he is being targeted so that they can get a conviction, since they cannot find the second suspect. We worry about his ability to have a fair trial due to Fostoria being such a small and not very diverse city. This is part of the reason we check on him and visit every single weekend in spite of having had issues with officers there and their unfair and rude ways. We have called and left the sheriff messages and no one has contacted us back. He also contacts us daily to update us on the way he is being treated and other rules being broken by staff there. All of which we will be pursuing.

Medical Care

Upon arrest Jeron's hand was broken. He practically begged for medical attention from both the lucas county jail and Seneca county jail only to be ignored. Both facilities correctional officers and medical staff repeatedly told him his hand wasn't fractured. His fingers were so swollen that they didn't even bother taking his wedding ring off. They reluctantly started to give him Ice for it and the swelling went down but the pain never went away. Finally after about 2 weeks of begging for treatment seneca county jail took him for an xray. At this point they found out it was indeed broken but was too late for them to set it or anything due to the time that lapsed. He fell on it at the end of February and fractured it further and again is getting no treatment.  Any grievances filed were replied to with lies. They have denied all medical accommodations requested and they have not bothered to take his vitals or any other reassuring medical procedures required for a inmate in his condition.  Just knowing that he is in there for a crime he didn't commit and in a completely vulnerable state is terrifying.

Due to the circumstances of this case we really need an excellent defense team. We are rightfully terrified that we won't get a fair trial based on many factors. A few include the way the media has already tarnished his name. His history of having a prior felony, the overall  indictment in spite of having no physical evidence, the media, and the population of the town itself are all huge obstacles to getting a fair trial. At this point it is imperative that on top of our lawyer we pay for our own specialists as well as investigators. Our funds are really limited at this point.  Trying  to maintain the household, 6 children, and all these unexpected legal expenses Is overwhelming financially and emotionally. Our ultimate goal is be able to pay for legal fees and a bond so that our family can maintain some normality as we await trial.

With a tarnished name and little faith In the justice system today, we are asking for support. EVERYTHING is appreciated even if it is just advice or recommendations. Jeron is a Loving father and husband to  5 sons and daughter. Over the years Jeron has worked hard to establish himself as a successful kennel owner, a contract worker for county projects, and most importantly a loving FATHER. His occupations gave him a flexible schedule and allowed him to be a hands-on parent. His presence is needed in the home tremendously.  His daughter Jayah who is the youngest is the most shattered. Their bond is like no other! Missing her father daughter dance in February was devastating for them both. It is so much that he has missed out on these last 6 months. Time that none of us can get back. The way Covid-19 is spreading is also frightening since he had a lung virus a few years ago and many other health issues. Ultimately we want him home to continue taking care of his family especially during this pandemic. We just want him home. We appreciate everyone that took the time to read this and if you have any questions I am more than willing to answer them. Thank you again!
