Margaret Ahmed single handedly started Homemakers Development Initiative in Jos, Nigeria to help women learn business skills and earn their own money, and drug addicts get off the street and find meaningful employment. Her organization also helps bridge the gaps between faiths and heal some of the violence on the streets. Jos, Nigeria is oft in the news, a place brewing with ethnic violence. For the last 20 years, Margaret has helped thousands escape violence and poverty, get off the streets, find work and become valuable members of society.

Margaret has been accepted into a summer peacebuilding program at Duke University to upgrade her skills and has so far managed to cover her tuition, visa and meals, but she is short money for the flight and accommodation from Jos, Nigeria to Durham, North Carolina. Margaret would use the skills she learned at the program to bring back to her organization and community. One tiny gift can help soo many people. 

Margaret is a devout worshiper of God and believes in the goodness of all souls. Her work is invaluable in her community.
