My name is Chef Roni and I own Chef Roni's Results Kitchen in the DFW area.
I came to Standing Rock in December to use my chef skills to help feed people. I've gotten a lot of joy out of doing so. I love caring for people.
I spent my first 5 weeks down at the Main Mess at Oceti Oyate. Due to lack of personnel and illness, that camp kitchen had closed down. While we were unable to get the big kitchen operational due to its size, we were able to make a make-shift kitchen within the mess hall where we were able to immediately start feeding people.
I am now with my fellow Veterans, cooking at their emcampment at Sacred Stone (with a little break to get over the flu). The kitchen has very little of anything and we need things like large soup pots, utensils, large skillets, etc. I would also like to get the kitchen a propane powered flat top so I can make pancakes, burgers, etc in larger numbers.
As an ongoing expense, meat and fresh produce is a must. We will not just be feeding the veterans out of that kitchen, as the Medics from Oceti are making their way up there and setting up camp next to us.
With the new events surrounding Trump and the pipeline, we can now expect to have even more Veterans arrive at Sacred Stone to help us be a presence. It is imperitive that I get the kitchen properly stocked to be able to feed everyone. This is where YOUR help is needed.
I am a Veteran, as is my daughter, my Mother, my Father, my brother, my ex-husband and my Uncle, who fought in Vietnam. It is my duty to feed my fellow Veterans and make sure they are getting the nutrition they need to continue to work hard to support the camp of Sacred Stone. Please help me do that!
