Hello my name is Dawn.

I have had a dream to help recovering addicts and pit bulls for some time. God is telling me to write this letter to WHO I don't know so here goes,

I have three children who are my life. I can honesty say if I didn't have them I would not be here today to write this. I was a drug addict for many of the early years of my children’s lives. I also was in a very abusive relationship. This drove me to drugs; to help cope with the pain and suffering that I was enduring, but I realize now God is the only one who can totally remove the pain and suffering. I so desire to do this for others who are going through this same kind of hurt. I would like to tell you a little about my story, about what has led me here today.

For today I am so in love with God’s words, I make it my daily routine to wake up with Him every morning. I get up at 5 am just so I can be alone with Him. I would like to thank Kenneth and Gloria Copeland for giving me that, those two are so into the word of God I just love them, I have read The Blessing and I am completely into the book and the stories Kenneth told. I read the Faith to Faith every morning along with Limitless Love. I am on a forty day spiritual journey with the Purpose Driven Life Book and I am on day four today. I am really enjoying it.

I had a happy childhood; my Mom is such a special person in my life, I thank God for her every day of my life. She was there for me through EVERYTHING!! My Mom and Dad made my childhood very special. I was top five in BC barrel racing and they made that possible. They would always get me to the next race. I was well on my way to going Pro Circuit, but then I allowed, what I thought was true love, to destroy all that happiness and joy. During a 13 year abusive relationship, I slowly sold all my horses and then the saddles I had won. Eventually I had nothing left and developed a horrible drug addiction. I did get out of that relationship, but I had put myself though the toughest years of my life; from having my head smashed in, to three major car accidents, all happening in a one year stretch. A head on collision with a truck with my daughter in the seat beside me, made me realize I had a bigger problem with drugs then I thought.
That is when I signed my children over to my Mom. I am so very thankful for my three beautiful children. During the time I was trying to clean myself up the second accident occurred. We were downtown Chilliwack looking for a car and when I and my daughter were crossing a busy highway we were both hit by a truck. With me in one hospital and my daughter in another, my Mom was there by my daughter’s bedside the whole time. Even after those two accidents I still was not done with drugs. The last accident was a head on collision with a logging truck. I was in the passenger seat. That accident, I literally died three times, I was in a coma for seven days and when I came out of it I had a severe brain injury. I had to learn how to eat, talk, and walk all over again. Even after all that I was still not done with that crazy life. I got out of the hospital and went straight to the drug dealers. But all I can say is that one day I woke up and said that this was enough and I threw my hands up in the air and just like that song says Jesus took the wheel. Praise God.


My best friend for many years was also there throughout the pain and suffering. Today he is my husband-to-be (soon). We have been through a lot of the drug years together but we both came out of it and we are together to this day. I couldn't be happier for we have made a life for ourselves and my three children. They may not have every material item but they have love. That is what matters because without the love God has to offer, we have nothing and for Him to be doing what He is doing for me right now, I just Praise the Lord for bringing me here today. I Love You Jesus!!

I have a purpose God is calling me to do. I am struggling with it a bit, because it is a pretty big purpose. He is telling me to help those that are struggling the way I have in the past. I want to help. I have had a plan in mind for sometime now and it is to provide a place called Serenity Seven Acres. God is guiding
