This donation page has been created to help raise funds for our journey to beat Multiple Sclerosis and we need your help. My name is Whitney Wesley, a girl with MS. I was diagnosed in 2002, after waking up completely blind from optical neuritis at the age of sixteen. I gave up on my dreams, I thought my life was over, and struggled to accept the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis for many years. I was angry, depressed, and even mad at God. I realized that if I wanted someone to reestablish my dreams and hopes, that someone would have to be me. I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and do something about it.

The Orange You Beautiful-Hair, Makeup, & Models Beauty Convention (HMMBC) event was born in 2013 out of the compassion of wanting to do more for this disease that affects me and so many others. As with any disease early detection can be the cause of a person being able to live a productive life. The event was created to raise awareness and educate people on the non-curable disease, Multiple Sclerosis and acknowledge the growing talent in the field of performing arts in our community. I dedicated my life to raising awareness for Multiple Sclerosis until a cure is found. Through my event I am doing just that and helping deserving talents live their dreams. Partial proceeds gained from our event is used towards awareness initiatives. Last year we donated hundreds to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, MS Walk, via donations on behalf of me, and the event donating funds.

This year, we plan to increase are efforts and expand our reach. We are planning to take our initiative on the road to spread awareness nationally; hosting our event in three other states. In order for our initiative to be successful the need for support is greater than ever, so the HMMBC has decided to collaborate with online social funding platform, Fundrazr, to reach a bigger audience. It is our hopes to not only collect donations to be able to continue our initiatives of MS Awareness, but also be a part of helping more dreams come true for deserving talents in our community.

I am adding some additional motivation for all our potential donors out there with the following: I, Ms. Arkansas United States 2015 will give a digital autograph photo (great collectible item) in honor of Multiple Sclerosis to each donor if we meet the $3,500 goal. To kick it up a notch, recently I started a journey to strength train for the upcoming season of Walk MS.  To add a little incentive (and motivation for myself) I will increase my training and do three full MS Walks if we meet the stretch goal of $5,500.  Which will I be doing?  Your donations will decide.  If we meet this goal the events start April 1, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee.

ALL of the donation money will be used 100% between giving to the local Multiple Sclerosis foundation and charity in time for the yearly MS Walk, and producing our one-of-a-kind MS Awareness show.  I will be paying for any Walk MS fee's and travel expenses on my own of course to participate in the walks. I am encouraging all friends and family (and others) to help if you can.  Every little bit counts even if it is only $10.  C'mon let’s raise some money!!!
