To anyone who still wants to support the cause, this campaign will be live for one more day! Thank you!
We reached $1,100 around noon today, which means that Re-Drum is funded! Let's keep this momentum going to fund DrumPhil too by sharing your favorite team on facebook. The more you share, the greater the impact of our #GivingTuesday campaign for music education!
New Stretch Goals:
If we reach $2,200, we'll cover presenter stipends for our monthly networking event through August!
Follow along on twitter @PhillyDrum for #Team updates!
Philly Drum Project is dedicated to making drumming more
accessible in the Philadelphia region by helping those in our area
share gear, lessons, and beats. We're teaming up with our members,
artists, and friends to make music education accessible in
Philadelphia. Whose team are you on? Choose from the Perk list on the
right. Your $10 gift will make a huge impact on our community!
We're participating in #GivingTuesday to fund our Re-Drum
donation program. The pilot program of Re-Drum, to refurbish 2
unwanted drumsets and provide them to the community for free drum
lessons, will cost PDP $1,100 (to refurbish the drumkits, staff the
free lessons for 10 weeks, and increase the impact of the program by
through exposure). It's an important program to make sure that
everyone in Philly has access to quality musical instruments, while at
the same time reducing our environmental footprint (do we need to buy
NEW drumsets when we have so many unused kits sitting in basements?).
We need to raise $1,100 in just one day! That's why your
donation of 10 bucks makes a huge difference in making sure that
students in the city have the resources to learn drums, regardless of
their experience or financial background. Help us make a difference!

A few notes from last year's DrumPhil Students:
Timothy Parsons (studied with Jimmy Coleman - #TeamColeman): "For me, DrumPhil was an experience beyond great. The students get so much out of one day, and it is such an eye-opening experience. Not only will you learn; you will make a bunch of new friends, meet some great drummers, and come home with a handful of new gear. It was my first time last year so I didn't know anybody, but the returning students came up to me and we just started talking and it was smooth sailing from there. It is the friendliest, non-competitive environment I have ever encountered, which just makes it even better. It doesn't matter how bad, or good, you think you are, everybody learns and everybody plays because its what they enjoy doing. Yeah, I got smoked by some of the guys there, but I learned from what they played and now I'm better because of it. The teachers are some of the best guys in the area, and are also very friendly and enthusiastic to teach. And, finally, you get to experience a great campus that is The University of The Arts in Philly and talk to some of the instructors there, which gets you information and that first step to applying if you want to do drumming or music as a career. All in all, it is a great experience and you will most definitely be grateful for everything that PDP works so hard to make happen."
Lucy Kates: My experience at the Philly Drum Project was awesome! I learned so much during the short time of one day. All of the instructors were very experienced and taught very well. They gave very individualized lessons which was great because of the wide range of experience among the students. I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to improve on their drumming skills.
