Shelley Nicholson thought she was fighting strep throat back in March 2014, only to get a call on a Saturday at the end of March saying she had to get to Calgary right away as her doctor thought she may have leukaemia - 38 years old! By Monday morning, leukaemia was confirmed and chemo started on Tuesday.

It has been a rough road and she is now going through the steps for a bone marrow transplant at the Tom Baker Clinic in Calgary. Shelley & Troy and their 2 teenage daughters live in Red Deer. Her husband has his own business operating a pipefitting truck and is usually away for weeks at a time. He has not been able to go back to work since April.

In May, they made their first claim to their medical insurance only to find out that Shelley wasn't covered by the plan. She stopped working in February after almost 20 years, and because she is now a homemaker, they would no longer cover her medical expenses.

They are finally at a point of financial distress. The bills are piling up and will keep coming as she will be in the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic in Calgary for at least 3 more months.

If you can help out in any way at all (every dollar counts), they would be forever grateful. If you cannot financially help out at this time, I understand. Please keep them in your prayers and be sure to share this link with all your friends & family.

My sincere appreciation for you taking the time to read this message.

Natasha Nicholson (Shelley’s sister-in-law)
