I have been with my husband for 11years and in 2006 we married. We had been trying to conceive since 2004 I had several tests done and the hospital said it was either PCOS or a prolactinoma after several more tests it was confirmed as PCOS. I received al the treatment for PCOS metformin to help with losing weight, Clomid to help with ovulation and even under went ovarian drilling as a last resort to help with ovulation all of which failed. The fertility specialist in my area are telling me my only chance of conceiving is ivf and due to illness hubby is unable to work he suffered a mini stroke in October 2012 we are now unable to afford the cost of IVF. In December 2012 we found out we were pregnant and although anxious over the moon unfortunately at 6 weeks I miscarried. We conceived twice more and again at 6weeks miscarried. In December 2013 I went to see an endocrinologist who deals with the endocrine system and hormones I have now been prescribed cabergoline which is used to treat prolactinoma yes that's right I've been hit with the double whammy of not being able to conceive due to PCOS and high prolactin levels. EACH loss makes my heart break that little bit more and we are slowly losing hope of having our forever baby. We have tried and tried all different fertility treatments and feel IVF is our only way.
