Debby Nelson hasn't added a story.
This afternoon, a good Samaritan brought Ambrose into the Florence shelter. They had seen him tied to a fence and were going to untie him and let him go. As they got closer, they were shocked at what they saw. His eye is out and has been for a while. His foot is almost severed and had been that way. He was very thin but still glad to see them.
When Amber, the vet tech, saw him her heart went out as to the pain he must have suffered. Amber thought he was young and maybe had a chance if he could get medical attention. She called Terri Whalen, the president of PAWS.
As soon as Terri saw this sweet pitiful boy, she took him to the vet. We are making him a PAWS dog but asking for you help with his vetting. His leg is cut almost all the way through and may have been done by a human. It will have to be amputated. His eye is dry and terrible. It will be removed. Today and through the weekend he will receive IV antibiotics and fluids and pain killers. He will be made comfortable while his infection is helped. Then, he will have his leg amputated first as it is in terrible shape and then his eye will be removed. He is so sweet and seemed to know that people were trying to help him. Please help us with Ambrose's care.
