Do you love animals? Do you wish you could help shelter animals find a forever home, but you don't have the time to volunteer or the space in your family to adopt? If so, please consider a gift to PAWNC (Promoting Animal Welfare in North Carolina). More ...

PAWNC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded for the purpose of reducing euthanasia rates of unwanted dogs in North Carolina, primarily focusing on Nash County Animal Shelter. PAWNC was formed to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and provide spay/neuter assistance to reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community. We offer free spay/neuter for any animal adopted from Nash County Animal Shelter. Due to the fact Nash Co Animal Shelter does not have a fund to assist injured or sick animals that are brought in, we provide emergency medical assistance for these animals.

From time to time, PAWNC rescues dogs with medical issues from severe neglect cases, primarily seniors and Bully breeds. Most of these dogs are considered unadoptable until rehabilitated. We are considered their last chance. Due to our small size and limited funding, we are currently able to do this only a few times a year. Donations are imperative to carrying out this mission.

PAWNC in partnership with Nash County Animal Friends was instrumental in reducing the euthanasia percentage of dogs from 72% in 2010 to 26% in 2011. We network & establish long standing relationships with other reputable rescue groups to rescue dogs from Nash County Animal Shelter. The euthanasia rate for dogs in 2012 dropped to 20%.

If you have always wanted to help save homeless animals but didn't know how, please consider donating to this wonderful organization.  Please be sure to mention Nash Pets in the memo.  Thank you for your support!
