Samir Khadgi , an eight-year old kid in Nepal, mistook a bomb for a toy and lost his right hand in explosion. His parents who make a living by running a small tea-shop do not have enough money to take care of the medical expenses. His parents worked hard so that their kid could go to school. But now with his right hand shattered into pieces because of the bomb, his mom worries that "he won't be able to write".

Here's a story in Nepali: http://setopati.com/raajneeti/5786/,
and in English: http://www.myrepublica.com/portal/index.php?action=news_details&news_id=64847

Nepal was going through elections  when the incident happened. The bomb was planted approximately 200 metres from a polling booth in Kathmandu, the Capital City of Nepal, supposedly by a group who does not want elections to happen in Nepal.

This poor kid and his parents' dream of educating him have been a victim of dirty politics.

Please help me raise some money to somewhat placate the wound. My parents in Nepal will hand-deliver the fund to the kid's parents, and I'll post pictures as proof of delivery.

Here's a blog where I update about the list of contributors, status of fund deliveries to the family, and health of Samir: http://helpsamirkhadgi.blogspot.com/

Since people are asking if I know the family personally, I don't. You do not need to know them personally to help a family in need. Thank you friends and strangers for your generosity. It will make a change in this poor kid's life.
