Our Local Food Bank for families in need, Located at the United Methodist Church on Church Street in Phoenicia, the Shandaken Food Pantry has been helping local families for many years. Now, they need your help - please donate whatever you can. You may also make a Donation at Ulster Savings Bank 58 Main Street Phoenicia NY 12464, to the "Phoenicia Food Pantry."
The Food Pantry was founded in the 1980s. It is operated by volunteers & donations. The Pantry is open to Shandaken Residents on Thursdays between 10am - 12pm, and by appointment. No one is refused service. Its mission states that we are aware that persons need to eat '365 days a year.'
They also provide Pet Food to owners who cannot buy food for their pets.
The Phoenicia Food Pantry serves approx. 30-35 families a week but it is seeing an increase in need. Donations are not keeping pace with the need. Your cash donation is greatly appreciated!
