We are going to a launch an encyclopedia on Swami Vivekananda. There are a dozen of websites on Swami Vivekanand (few of those are really very good, specially sites like But, there is not any encyclopedia on Swami Vivekananda.

In 2011, we started working in English language Wikipedia and created and expanded hundreds of articles related to Swami Vivekananda. In 2013 we created a WikiProject on Swami Vivekananda (see for details. Here you'll get all the articles we have created and expanded there.) Estimated readership of our articles are more than 1 million (yes, 1 crore).

Now, there are many limitations in Wikipedia. Wikipedia is Wikipedia and not an encyclopedia on Swami Vivekananda. We also noted there were and there are many editors who continuously attack Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna related articles (for examples, an editor continuously bring up Ramakrishna's sexuality issue to injure the article's improvement process)

For all these reasons, we desire to create an encyclopedia on Swami Vivekananda — an open encyclopedia — like Wikipedia — which anyone can edit — BUT, the only difference between Wikipedia and our encyclopedia will be — our encyclopedia will be entirely dedicated to Swami Vivekananda and his universe. And we are sure that we'll make it.

Now, it needs YOUR help. We have estimated the amount of money we'll need to start the website. We expect you'll help here. You do not need to donate the whole amount alone. Do whatever you can. Even if you can not donate anything, that is not a problem. Your suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
