Jason Yochum is my younger brother, he is 33 years old and will not make it to his next birthday. He is currently in Mercy hospital with liver and kidney failure and cannot breath on his own. His body is shutting down. There is no chance of a liver transplant as his body is too sick to survive a surgery. He has what is called hepatorenal syndrome and hepatorenal encephalopathy. The prognosis for these are very poor and he is not expected to survive beyond a week or two. At this point all we can do is be there for him although he is very confused and cannot speak. We must prepare for the inevetible. I miss my brother already for he is not who he once was...loud, boisterous, life of the party, smiling, telling jokes. My family has fallen on hard times, my mother and father are both disabled and not working and I don't bring in much money. We want to be able to pay for my brother's final expenses but are unable to do so fully. Any amount will help. We realize that a burial is not possible so we want to be able to pay for cremation and an urn if we are abe to. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words in our time of sadness. We are losing a genuinely good person, my brother, son of John and Frances Yochum, uncle to Emma Yochum, friend to many...You will be missed.
