From December 1 - December 31, 2012 you can make a difference by creating the opportunity of education to young Darfuri Refugees in Chad.

Little Ripples is a project funded and provided by i-ACT. Our objective is to provide preschool education for the 7,300 refugee children ages 3-5 years old in Darfuri refugee camps Djabal and Goz Amer. This effort will be started by building and implementing a cluster of 6 classrooms in Goz Amer, and then expand to provide preschool education for all children in both camps.

During i-ACT's 14th expedition to Chad, Gabriel Stauring, Director of i-ACT and Jennifer Tang, Project Coordinator for Little Ripples, witnessed a recent fire that destroyed 6 homes.

In an effort to keep their families alive, parents often leave their children at home without supervision and education. The project will not only promote early childhood development, but will also create a safe environment for children to learn, grow, and heal from trauma.

The following examples are approximate estimates as to how your contributions could change a child's life. These are just a few examples as to where your contributions might go:

$7 - Clothes for School
Description: Our refugee friends have always said that uniforms were important. It helps foster pride in education and creates equality in the classroom.

$13 - Be Prepared to Learn
Description: Classroom tools help children gain cognitive skills, as well as learn how to share and work together. Help give the gift of building blocks, chalkboards, stuffed animals, and more!

$25 - Building a Latrine and Water Point
Description: Promote a healthy environment by providing a share into building a latrine and clean water system in the compound.

$35 - One Month of Education
Description: You cannot put a price on education, for it is invaluable. However, when there isn't an opportunity, one must make one.

$48 - Classroom Leaders
Description: Teachers foster growth, healing, and learning for every little ripple.
