Hello everyone! We are two sisters-in-law, Carrie Adase and Jessica Moran Hickey, who are coming together to help our sister and brothers, Carinne Bach, Robert Moran and Christopher Bach in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. This page is dedicated specifically to Chris. Please read their stories below and contribute anything you can. We know that there are so many people in need, so we appreciate any help that you can give. CHRISTOPHER'S STORY: In addition to losing his childhood home where Carinne and Rob were living, Christopher just purchased his Grandfathers home in August of this year. While he had spent a good portion of his time in Breezy Point, staying with Carinne and Rob often, he was ecstatic to finally have his OWN home in his beloved Breezy Point. A home that is also tied to both Carinne and Chris' childhood. After owning his home for only one month, in September of this year, Breezy suffered the unthinkable when a tornado touched down causing widespread damage. Luckily many homes were spared, but many lost boats, cars and suffered some property damage. During the tornado, Christopher lost a sea kayak and his catamaran. He was just beginning to recover from that loss, as was the rest of Breezy Point, when Hurricane Sandy hit only a month later. Not only has he lost the new boat that he had purchased to replace the one that was taken from him during the tornado, he now has lost his car, all of his photography equipment that he uses for his profession and his home has suffered significant damage. Christopher, having retired from the FDNY after 9/11, braved the horror and stayed in Breezy Point during the hurricane in order to be able to volunteer should disaster strike. Thankfully he was able to help once fire began tearing through Breezy Point considering it took hours for the fire department on the outside to reach them. His efforts are that of a true hero. He has helped so many through a variety of disasters in his time in the FDNY, now it is time for us to come together and repay him for all that he has contributed. While the rebuilding process will take a considerable amount of time, Jessica and I would like to try and help our brothers and sister rebuild in anyway that we can. If any of our friends and family would like to donate to help Chris, we would very much appreciate any help you could give. You will see a "Donate Social" link at the top of the timeline, near the pictures. Please visit that link and donate what you can. We will also be setting up a P.O. Box address for those who would like to donate gift cards. If you would also like to help Carinne and Rob as well, please visit the following link to read their story. https://www.facebook.com/RebuildBreezy From the bottom of our hearts, Jessica and I would like to thank you all.
