With this campaign, we as a community are financing the official launch of our non-profit foundation and the first 3 full scholarships.
Who We Are and Why We Are Acting Now
Hello, we are Karin and Peter – the founders of the Phoenix Sanctuary. We know firsthand what it means to go through deep valleys in life. Out of Karin’s victory over cancer and Peter’s path to inner clarity, our mission was born: to create a safe space where people can find their way back to their own strength.
The Camino de la Paz Foundation is the natural continuation of this path. However, because bureaucratic processes in the Dominican Republic take time, we are starting the scholarships right now on a private level, using the existing infrastructure of our Phoenix Sanctuary. Many people need support RIGHT NOW – they cannot wait for government authorities.
Our Plan: Step by Step to Our Goal

Milestone A (approx. 5,000 USD):
Legal and administrative fees for the official registration of the foundation as a local non-profit organization. -
Milestone B (approx. 7,000 USD):
Building the digital infrastructure, administration, website, and structuring the future work of the foundation. -
Milestone C (up to 20,000 USD):
The first 3 full scholarships. With this, you give people in need a completely free regeneration stay at the Phoenix Sanctuary.
A Look into the Future: As soon as this foundation is laid, we will move into the next phases. Our long-term goal is to expand the foundation step by step to build a community house for integrative practices as well as bungalows for seniors. With Phase 1, you are laying the cornerstone today for this lasting village of peace.
