Survival Mode Is Not Motherhood
Give one mom more than rest. Give her two weeks of support to remember who she is, beyond the burnout, beyond the chaos, beyond the roles.
Some moms aren’t okay, and no one knows.
They’re showing up,
doing everything for everyone, and quietly disappearing inside.
It looks like she’s managing.
But inside, she’s in
survival mode, exhausted, numb, and disconnected
from her own life.
This project is here to change that, one mom at a time.
Why I Started This
I didn’t create this because I had extra time or energy.
I
created it because I was her.
There was a point in my life where I couldn’t feel much of
anything.
Not joy. Not sadness. Just… nothing.
I was doing all the right things, but I didn’t feel like a
person.
I felt like a shell.
And the scariest part?
No
one noticed. Not even me, until it broke me.
That’s why this project exists.
To give one mom a month a real break.
Not just
to help her rest,
but to help her start reconnecting to
herself again.
The Hidden Dangers of Survival Mode
Survival mode doesn’t just make moms tired.
It makes them
disappear from their own lives.
When a mom stays in survival mode long enough:
-
She stops feeling joy, then stops feeling anything
-
She pulls away emotionally from her kids and partner, not because she wants to, but because she’s numb
-
She becomes more reactive, more forgetful, less present
-
Her body begins to break down, chronic exhaustion, migraines, frequent illness, even signs of autoimmune conditions caused by prolonged stress
-
Her nervous system stays stuck in fight-or-flight
-
And she starts to believe it’s just her, that something’s wrong with her, instead of realizing she’s burned out
The scariest part?
No one sees it happening.
Not even her.
Because she’s still
functioning. Still smiling in photos. Still getting things done.
Until one day, she breaks.
Quietly. Alone.
Still carrying everything.
That’s why this project exists.
To catch her before she
disappears completely,
and give her two weeks of real, pressure-lifting support.
What She Receives
Each month, one mom in the Ontario area receives two weeks of practical support, designed to take real pressure off her shoulders, the kind of support most moms never get, but deeply need.
Here’s how it works:
Week 1: A professional home cleaning
Not to impress anyone. Not to make her house perfect.
But to
give her time back, and a chance to breathe.
Most moms in survival mode spend every spare moment trying to catch
up, scrubbing bathrooms, folding laundry, wiping counters before
collapsing.
This cleaning gives her a break from that
cycle.
It lifts the weight of the “never-ending mess” so that her
mind and body can finally rest.
Even if just for a little while.
Week 2: Prepared meals
So she’s not the only one thinking about what’s for dinner, again.
This covers the exhausting mental loop moms are stuck in every day:
This week, she gets a break from that noise.
Meals are handled.
Groceries are taken care of.
She doesn’t have to carry the entire
load of feeding everyone while forgetting to feed herself.
This isn’t about “fixing” her life in two weeks.
It’s about
giving her space, physically, mentally, and emotionally,
to
reconnect.
To feel.
To remember she’s not just a mom, she’s
also a person.
What Happens After
We know a clean house won’t change her entire world.
We know
dinner won’t fix the pressure she carries.
But this isn’t about a quick fix.
It’s about interrupting the cycle of survival mode long enough for her to breathe, and begin to come back to herself.
Maybe she uses the time to rest.
Maybe she meets a
friend.
Maybe she sits in silence and feels something she hasn’t
in a long time.
Maybe she starts to imagine that more is possible.
That’s the shift.
And it’s powerful.
Where Your Support Goes
We’re raising $9,600 to help 12 moms over the next 12 months , one mom per month, with two full weeks of real, hands-on support.
Each mom receives $800 worth of care, support that’s deeply personal, practical, and impossible to forget. How each $800 is used:
80% goes directly to the mom
This covers:
-
House cleaning and laundry services
-
Groceries or professionally catered dinners
-
Childcare or any support she chooses to lighten her load
-
Always delivered with care, dignity, and no strings attached
20% covers what it takes to run this movement
This supports:
-
Coordinating services and scheduling each mom’s care
-
Communicating with local businesses and donors
-
Handling applications, outreach, and logistics
-
Sharing her story (with permission) to raise awareness and expand our impact
Why It Matters
Some moms are disappearing in plain sight.
They stop
dreaming.
Stop asking for help.
Start believing this is just
what motherhood is now.
This project exists to say: No, it’s not.
You’re still in there. And you matter, not just as a mom, but as you.
Help us remind one mom this month that her life still belongs to
her.
That she’s allowed to rest.
Allowed to
feel.
Allowed to reconnect with herself and her life again.
Because survival mode is not
motherhood.
And it never should’ve been.
