Hello Silicon Villagers,
Over the last few years, we tried something a little different regarding funding the No Drama Bar, asking ( BUT BY NO MEANS REQUIRING) the village members for contributions. The contributions will then be used for the centralized purchase of alcohol, mixers, ice and all the other items necessary to successfully operate the bar. This method has worked phenomenally well over the past few years. In prior years Village members contributed an aggregate of up to and over $6,000 which went a long way towards purchasing the items that were necessary. During the 2018, 2019, and 2022 Burns, we served over 5,000 drinks per week to the Black Rock Community from the No Drama Bar. The success of prior year contributions from the Silicon Village community is the reason the No Drama bar was able to operate so effectively.
The last few years have been a great success with all Silicon Village members participating and support the bar, so we will continue those processes again this year. This year we will be adding a little more space again for additional standing/sitting/activities area for patrons. We will be opening the bar to all the Black Rock Community from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM daily (as long as we have villagers to operate the bar). Please remember that the bar is open to all Silicon Village members at any time, as they say "membership has its privileges". As usual we will be opening the bar for different camps to host Happy Hours. So far we have a few scheduled including: The Annual No Drama Bar Burnin Man Kickoff (sponsored by No Drama camp), Tu Tus Sunday (sponsored by Muse camp), Flogging and Bad Boy Brew (sponsored by Bad Boy camp), Pizza Party (sponsored by Code Name camp), and more to be added as we get closer to the event. In prior years the bar has hosted a Wine & Body Paint Spectacular, a Slack Line (not sure if this is supposed to be a sobriety test?), Bacon & Bloody Mary breakfast, an Octoberfest event, and fire pit.
** To make this a success again this year, we are asking Silicon Village members for contributions toward the cost of the inventory to run the bar. PLEASE NOTE THAT CONTRIBUTIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED FROM ANYONE. If you are able and would like to contribute, we would be very thankful as it goes a long way to supporting the cost to procure the inventory. **

P.S. If you have an idea and would like to host a happy hour event, we would love to hear about it to help make it happen. If you want to host an event the No Drama Bar will provide the liquor, mixers, and ice, while you provide the folks to operate the bar and the specific activities, etc. I will be sending out a sign-up sheet in the next day or two so keep an eye out.
