Got a message today from a Balinese friend whose area has been hard hit economically due to Corona Virus lockdown. They don't have any food. Almost 100 families are starving in Singaraja area.
No tourism has brought this island to a stand still. Most People in Bali have no job. Many don't have money for food.
In some areas the village government is giving food to the
residents.
In many areas this isnt happening yet. So these
people have no food or money since Feb. Singaraja area where my friend
Jero is from, there is no help yet. Around 100 people are in very
urgent need. This campaign is to raise money so we can buy them food
asap. This is an urgent need. We have balinese people supporting and
helping me with this effort.
It doesn't cost so much to feed a family here. Around $60-70/ month
can keep a family of 4-6 fed for a whole month.
We have a 104
families to feed right away. We want to ensure that there is food for
them for 4-6 months.
