Freedom Paws Transport hasn't added a story.
WE ARE WORKING ON A MORE SPECIFIC TIMELINE FOR OUR UPCOMING TRANSPORTS : PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR NEW DETAILS! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THESE AMAZING DOGS!
We are volunteers, animal lovers, "dog people"; we are bleeding hearts who want to Save Them All. And with your help, we're one step closer to being able to do so.
We have the opportunity to save 30 dogs this month (and every month) and to enable them to have a brand new leash on life; a new start; a long, safe and happy life full of the love that they deserve.
WE ARE ORGANIZING TRANSPORTS FOR BROWARD COUNTY'S "DEATH ROW DOGS" SAVING LIVES ONE MILE AT A TIME
By creating partnerships with no-kill rescues and shelters across the state of Florida and across the country, we are able to rescue dogs from Broward County who would otherwise not make it out of the shelter alive.
THE MORE WE CAN RAISE, THE MORE WE CAN SAVE!
Transport is not cheap. We use an air-conditioned "bus" that makes comfort stops for the dogs so that they are able to travel in the most humane, calm and comfortable way possible. Sometimes, we cannot fit many dogs on a transport, because we provide transport for some of the shelter's biggest, heftiest residents. Each transport is organized with the welfare of the dogs in mind and to make sure that they are not traumatized by the trip.
The roster of dogs travelling each month is updated, as more dogs are added, and sometimes, if a dog is adopted at the eleventh hour, as dogs are moved up the transport list to take their place.
This month's travelers are...

*ALREADY TRANSPORTED*
the following have already been on transport to their new start!
MAX - withdrawing rapidly in the shelter environment,
happy boy Max went on transport to Clearwater Beach, FL and a was
adopted just 2 days later! He now has a loving mom and dad and a fur
sibling. Happy tails Max! Arriving
at Clearwater!
Enjoying
his new digs - playtime at his new, smaller shelter!
ADOPTED! Just 2 days after he arrived, Max
was adopted!
JUJYFRUIT - 11 year old black Labrador went to
"fospice" care on the Gulf Coast of FL as part of the
Seniors to Seniors program. Although he passed away shortly after his
arrival, his transport to a new home meant that he was able to spend
his final days in a loving environment, on a warm bed, snuggled in a
blanket. RIP Jujy, we were blessed to know you. Jujy's rescue went to
a kill shelter the next day and rescued a little blind black lab pup
in his honor, thereby passing on a little piece of love.
LITTLE LUCKY was a last-minute addition to this
month's transport schedule, hitching a ride along with Chelsea and
finding his feet very quickly in the Seniors to Seniors program we
love & support in Fort Myers. (pics to follow)
CHELSEA Australian cattle dog with alopecia selected for the Seniors program in Fort Myers, and able to transport thanks to the generosity of donors to the Fundraising campaign! Chelsea is still settling in to her new environment but with love and kindness she is slowly coming out of her shell. (pics to follow)
RIDER Rider was a perfect passenger but was quite shy when he arrived in Clearwater to meet his new rescue family. Scared at first he has now been approved for adoption and is also a proud member of the Diamond Doggies program which means that he will receive pampering, monthly spa days and playgroup opportunities even after he has been adopted. Rider arrived as Clearwater was uncharacteristically chilly & was given a snuggly new Sherpa jacket to keep him warm.
