Hello. My name is Gilly Foreman, and I have recently relocated to the UK after living in Turkey for 23 years. Many of those years I helped street dogs, to try and better their lives and/or find UK forever homes for them. During that time I was fortunate to get to know of Sarah Browne, who almost single handedly cares for 400 homeless dogs on a large piece of land near Fethiye. The nearest town is Koycegiz, but only a few years ago it was a village.

There is no proper dog shelter there, no workers, and no vet. Sarah with the help of a handful of other Brit volunteers cares for these dogs to the very best of her ability, raising funds tirelessly for food, kennelling, and vetenary treatments, as she gets virtually no help at all from the municipality.

NOW, Sarah needs to have a container like the one above converted into a block with kennelling for some very timid and nervous dogs. These dogs come in, usually after severe abuse or even rape, and are terrified of everyone. They are scared of other dogs, as often been kept on a short chain 24/7 and not socialised with other dogs in any way. The general shelter area is open, and there is nowhere that these dogs can go, or be put, where they can feel safe and secure. They cannot eat. They cannot relax as are often bullied and attacked by more confident and dominant dogs. 

Sarah says: "there are now well over 400 dogs at the shelter and we desperately need to make an extra new area to house our more quiet and frightened dogs as where we are putting them is not working out and several have been attacked,; some are too frightened to come out of their kennels to the point of not eating so we are desperate to build what we need.
BUT we need your help to do it, if you can donate any small amount at all, for us to make it possible for these poor souls. The area is chosen, the stones for the floor have been delivered as have the fencing and the doors but the major cost is getting a building for them to go inside.
The building will be a container of sorts, to house them in winter and summer, insulated roof and floor with side panels, wooden floor and a platform, the whole building will have to have legs to raise it from the ground because of winter flooding.
The cost of the building alone is approx £1000
We have bought the stones, cement and fencing on credit as we need to concentrate on raising money for this very important building.
