Hello, my name is Paige Kathleen. I created this fundraiser for my niece and sister in-law, who desperately need your help. This story is about a mother’s struggle to fight against a broken system, where money rules, to bring her baby girl home.
Stephanie Lynn and Alex Delaine, mother and daughter, have been everything to one another from day one. For many years, they were on their own with no father in the picture; despite Stephanie’s countless efforts to have Alex’s biological father be even a minuscule part of her life for the sake of her little girl. He had no interest and declined even speaking to her, before ignoring all attempts and writing off little Alex’s existence. Then thankfully one day, Stephanie and little Alex met Tony and little Trinity Marie. Little did they know that this was the beginning of a beautiful and joyous family. The two became happily married, making the already inseparable duo Trinity and Alex officially sisters. Finally sweet little Alex had the loving father she had always wanted and needed, while Trinity finally had the same in a mother. Shortly thereafter, Stephanie and Tony along with their two wonderful daughters, were all blessed with the arrival of another sweet baby girl named Samantha Rae (Sammy). Neither Trinity nor Alex had ever had a newborn baby sister; and they doted on Sammy almost as much as their loving mother and father did. A while later, their incredibly sunny and blissful family was even further blessed once again by the addition of sweet little Brooklyn Sky. Now, after beginning with a single loving mother and the tiny bundle of joy that enveloped her entire world, this quintessential family became truly whole and more radiant than they had ever imagined possible. Of course this is still reality. The sisters bickered like sisters, made big messes and disobeyed like children, and aged their parents (mostly their mother as she is the main caretaker) by at least 10 years per year. Luckily they were fortunate enough to have a superhero mom. Able to keep up with it all, while still properly raising/teaching them and spending quality time reading books or playing outside with each of them. In addition to the joy and necessary stability this all gave to them; they were also the happiest and most loving sisters. This has been ripped away from all of them now. All beginning with Stephanie being too great of a mother to turn down Alex’s biological dad when he finally, over 6 years later, wanted to visit with and get to know her. It was of course the right call to make when only thinking in the best interest of your daughter. However, no one expected what this eventually led to. The biological father’s family is quite wealthy, and unfortunately this not only rules the justice system but the rest of the world as well. During a short several day visit, his family’s wealth bought him the second chance that he didn’t deserve to be an actual father. In the form of the bribery of numerous public officials in different positions of power, and a well-known high priced cut throat attorney who isn’t just comfortable with playing dirty tricks or even blatant lies, it is the sole tactic she employs. As they most often do, these dirty tactics and mere money worked like a charm. Little Alex was ripped from her warm and loving home, away from her mom, dad, and 3 unbreaksbly bonded sisters. Obviously mom and dad haven’t been the same since, neither have the 3 sisters she was also forcibly taken away from; and most of Alex hasn’t been the same at all. It has been years of Stephanie fighting with everything she’s got to bring Alex back home where she belongs and wishes so desperately to be. In their faces, I see the hope fading and the light in their eyes going out. How can she win against money when she has none left after years of having to drain their savings and undo something that should have never been able to happen in the first place? With right or wrong thrown out the window, replaced with whomever has the most money for the best deceiver and liar, how can good triumph over corruption? Well that’s where you all come in. Her best and only chance at finally defeating this for her daughter, Alex, is to be able to hire an attorney. The attorney requires a $4,000 downpayment excluding the $500 consultation that I myself have already paid for. If I am able to get the donations for her and Alex, the lawyer’s (he is personally known to us) final cost would total $10,000 including the downpayment. Also, with this all originating in a different state from either one of the states that both parties now live in, there would also be travel expenses including everything from air fare to lodging; coming to at least an additional $2,000. Court and filing fees, which have been paid a couple dozen times throughout this entire tragedy, have so far been $800 minimum. That is why I have set the goal to $12,800, the minimum necessary to accomplish these goals and finally bring Alex home. Please, look into your heart and imagine yourself in this situation. I beg that you all donate however much you possibly can; even just a single dollar is one step closer than where we are now. If you truly cannot donate at this time, I ask you to please at least share this around to increase the hope of Alex and Stephanie getting the much deserved help and justice that they need.
