First of all I apologies for my English, not so good in it.

I am from a small village of India and from a middle-class family. Because of the reserved Indian culture, I am afraid to make my story public, as it might affect my family’s image. But now the situation has come to ask for some financial help for saving the innocent lives.

From last few months I and my family are going through lot of tensions and now financial crises.

Incidence is like this:

Few months before my brother and his friends had a quarrel with one stranger who was recording the video of my brother’s wife (recently married) and her friends. They all were going to visit one waterfall nearby our village by car (swift). My brother and his few friends were in one car and all ladies were in another car. Boys had noted that some stranger on the bike was doing video recording of the ladies in another car. So they tried to ask and stop that stranger from doing so. But that boy had used some bad and abusive words, hence they slapped that guy. That boy ran away and told his family members about the incidence. He was staying nearby. There was a traffic jam on that road at that time. Therefore my brother helped the other car to move ahead by the side road. All ladies were in that car and that car size was considerably small so could find out a way in the traffic. That car went ahead, but my brother’s car couldn’t, because of the car size.

In a while that boy had come with more than 10 people and they surrounded the car. They started breaking car from all sides. At the same time one man had thrown a big stone from the front of the car. My brother was at the driving sit of that car. That stone hit him badly that he fainted instantly. At the same time other people had pull other boys seated at the back and started beating them with stick, legs. When they realized that man at the front seat has passed away and not moving at all, all people ran away from that place. All injured boys called their friends to come for help as they were afraid that my brother might have passed away. Few friends come and taken them to the hospital. Meanwhile some of the people, still not clear who they were, went to that boy’s home to talk on this matter. But the man, who had thrown the stone towards my brother, instead of discussing again started beating those people. Because of the arrogant, abusive language and aggressive behaviour of that man, friends (not sure who) started beating him. When that man got badly injured all ran away. He had a head injury. My brother and his friends were not aware about what had happened after they left from that place for the treatment. Thank GOD my brother was alive, but was badly injured.

Till morning my brother didn’t tell anything to us because he was afraid that we will scold him because car was completely damaged and he had injury. We were shocked to see police with FIR only on my brother’s name. He is the primary suspect in this case. Then we got the information that our relatives (very rich) who don’t want my family to live normal life, had went to that place and asked them to file FIR on my brother’s name. Our relatives have done this because my father don’t allow them to acquire a grandfather’s land alone. My father wants to have legal share in that land. Trust me this kind of things really happens in India. People kill each other for land and money. Police has arrested my brother and his friend. Since then my brother and his friends are there in a central jail. These boys and girls with them had gone to police to lodge a cross-complaint, but police didn’t take it. It’s all because of politics and corruption.

As soon as we came to know about the exact incidence happened, we ran to that injured man (boy’s father) and started spending money for his medical treatment. That family is really very poor. Also shifted him to the good hospital, because in the government hospital doctors were getting so much of pressure from my relatives (who wanted to spoil my brother’s life) for not treating that patient well. We spent lot of money for his treatment. Till 15 days he had shown good recovery. He started eating and moving on the wheelchair. But suddenly got a heart attack and died. We lost all our hopes of saving my brother and his friends from getting convicted, because that man was the only person who was going to tell in the court that people who beat him are not these boys who are in the custody now.

We are a middle-class family. Whatever savings we had and as much amount we can collect from our friend circle, we had collected all and spent for trials. My brother had just started his new job. He is the only son to my parents and recently married. My father is retired from the private firm and mother is a housewife. My father had gone through heart surgery last year. So only earning hand was my brother. We daughters do support them financially but we do have our own families to run. I have taken loan to the extent I was applicable for. My elder sister is attending this court matter and communicating with lawyers, police. Because of this stress she couldn’t do well in his office so now got fired from the job. She has 2 kids and her husband’s salary is very negligible. She was the only financial support in her family. I don’t want her family and my parents to suffer. Now financially we all exhausted. Whatever I earn goes into paying my EMI and paying legal expenses. Now had to support my sister as well, since she don’t have job and her kids go to school.

We don’t have any social network on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, so difficult to collect money. Even I don’t want to spread this news in my friend circle that my brother is arrested, because of the mean mentality. My brother and parents have to spend their life in that village and I don’t want them to spend them in shame even if all boys are innocent. Please help to understand my worry.

All kids are well educated and none of them are criminal. Most of the family members are very poor and completely relying on us for their kids’ lives. One of the boys has no parents and alone. Because of the corruption we have to give whatever police, lawyer will ask for. If we don’t pay, police don’t even allow us to talk to boys or even don’t bring them for trial. It’s really very hard for everyone’s family to spend a single day without their kids. We know that in prison there is no proper food (all boys have already lost lot of their weight), no place to sleep properly. Not hygienic at all. One of the boys got some infection and police gives the same tablets to everyone for any kind of disease. Every day is torture in the prison. Government don’t even give them sufficient food.

Because of no money in hand to defend them in the court, we are not in a position to save them from getting sentenced. Also because of all tensed situation, all started to have health problems. 24 hours we think only about them. Because jail environment in India is ridiculous. Whenever we visit them, we see that his physical condition worse than before -thinner and thinner and they tell new things happened inside the jail. Very painful situation we all are in.

We feel very guilty when we see him saying that no sufficient food to eat, no place to sleep etc...etc. Entire family is in a great pain now. We don’t feel to eat anything, we don’t sleep in the night because our boy is in this condition and his friends as well. We all along with other friend’s families are trying to save all of them and their future. They all see at us with hope that we will take them out of this.

There are so many rich people out in the world. If they could give us fraction of their money, it will save many lives. Please help me to reach my request to those rich people. Kindly help us to get through this tough situation.
