Best friends Kini & Jessica have been so inspired by Officer Tommy Norman’s passion for giving and commitment to community policing that they are making a road trip from Tallahassee, FL to North Little Rock, AR on August 12, 2016 to SURPRISE Officer Tommy Norman. They would like to “pay it forward” so Officer Norman can "Police It Forward" (as Kini calls it) by bringing him snacks, drinks, school items, etc. to him for the community he patrols.
The children of North Little Rock, Arkansas have been blessed with Officer Tommy Norman. Officer Norman is a patrolman/officer who has worked in the North Little Rock Police Department for 18 years and has patrolled some of the toughest neighborhoods in North Little Rock. Norman is known for building relationships within the communities he works in as it’s called positive community policing. For years Norman has amassed a positive reputation for police officers in North Little Rock, central Arkansas and beyond. Norman’s unorthodox approach to policing includes thousands of video posts, pictures and daily interactive engagement at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, etc. with those that he protects and serves. For years Officer Norman has provided the children and community with snacks, drinks, school supplies, etc. daily out of his own pocket, kindness of his heart and recently via donations from inpsired followers. He uses his social media (*see below) and a variety of ways to inspire the world, a world where recently police are seen in a negative light with brutality, abuse of force and poor relationships with citizens.
Recently Officer Norman's public figure Facebook page of over 200,000 followers was hacked, twice. While he started a new one and has gained several new followers within the last two weeks, it will take some time before donations start rolling in. Until then, once again he will use his own money to continue packing that trunk to provide for the community. We all know this can be very expensive.
While we have already purchased items to surprise him with, our goal is to raise money which will cover specific needed items for the North Little Rock Community, more snacks, drinks, gift cards, and toys. Would you please help us "Pay It Forward" so Officer Norman can "Police It Forward" to his community?
This has been a bit challenging at keeping this a surprise and have tried to be careful as Officer Norman is friends with Kini on social media. We cannot wait to turn the camera around on him and surprise him! WOOP WOOOOP *Officer Norman's voice*
