My name is Minnie. I spent the first few years of my life shut away in a coal shed, my parents told me it had to be that way because they were getting divorced, although I didn't really understand what that word meant but it must have been bad for them to have to put me in that dark cold drafty place where I didn't much food and they had to hurt me all the time and leave me in pain because my teeth hurt me so much then they turned black and started rotting and breaking and they wouldn't get anyone to help me. I though They must have loved me so much to let me go through this.? Whilst I was in there I met another dog and a few months later I had some babies. I loved my babies very much, but after a few weeks they took them all away except for my daughter. She was put up for sale on a place called the internet, where a really nice lady found her. I was so pleased that my daughter would get to go to nice warm home with family to love her. When the nice lady came to pick her up, she could see that I was sad and scared of being on my own again so she asked my parents if she could have me too. I thought my parents would say no because they loved me but I was shocked when they said yes! I felt sad but at least I had a hope of being in a nice warm home again. We got in the car and it felt so nice to be warm and comfortable and I felt myself smile. I stayed with the really nice lady for a while and she gave gave us food and hugs and a nice warm bed. she told me that my daughter would be staying with her and I would be going to meet a lady who was going to be my new mom. I was scared about meeting my new mom, what if she was like my old parents and I worried if she would be getting one of these divorces andhave to put me in the shed. But I was happy for my daughter that she would never be put in a shed because her new mummy loved her very much. We got in the car and it felt like the journey would take forever. We drove to this little village and I could see animals in fields, lots of lovely grass to run on . We stopped outside a house and I felt a bit scared, and then I saw this lady standing at the door with a happy face, I knew this must be my new mum so I ran over to her and she got down and hugged me and I gave her lots of kisses with my very smelly breath, but she didn't mind because she she said she loved me from the minute she saw me. She took me into her house and I saw two little people, I was scared at first because they were looking at me so I hid under moms arms. They came over and started to talk to me and I felt a little less scared so I decided to go and explore my new house. There was a great big garden to play in and to my relief, there was no coal shed ... phew . I felt happy and my mom told me she had been waiting for a little girl like me for a long time and that fate had brought me to her. I loved my mum from that day on. Later in the day a man came to the house, apparently this was my dad who had been at work all day. I was so frightened of dad, he reminded me of my old dad and I ran under the table and hid from him, I thought he would hurt me. My mom told me not to be scared because he would never hurt me. For the first few weeks i was hiding when he came home from work or I would run and hide under my mums arms, but slowly she taught me not to be scared of him.I was still very shy and scared but it got easier and I knew that my new family would never hurt me. My mom hugs me all the time and so do the little people and they are teaching me how to play. Mom took me to a place called the doggy doctors and she said they would help my mouth feel better. I fell asleep there and when I woke up I felt a bit better, but Scary man said that I had to go back and have allot more work done on my upper teeth and jaw where my teeth grow the wrong way and make my smile look funny and I was given tablets to get rid of nasty germs that made my mouth smell yacky . I mouth felt better and it wasn't hurting so mommy took me home. She told me I can go and have my other work done when she had got the money together because my insurance wouldn't help her. Mom saved most of the money but a few weeks ago, all around my eye swelled up . It got so big that mom said it made me look like I had been in a ring with mike Tyson, I don't know who he is but if he makes my eyes look like that then I don't want to know him. My eye started to bleed and mom was very scared so she took me back to the doggy doctor in the night to help my eye get better. Mom was sad because she had to use the money she had saved for my mouth, to get my eye fixed. My eye is all better now, I was very lucky the man said. My mom said she will do everything she can to get the money together again to make my mouth better soon so I would like to ask you kind people if you can help me and mom get the rest of my mouth fixed so I can be happy without any more pain. My mum says she feels very bad asking for help, but she says she will do anything for me because I'm her sweet little girl .
