Dear Friends and Family,

I recently applied to an intern position at my church, after I submitted my application I was asked to come in for an interview. The morning of the interview I dressed in my Sunday blues and headed over to the church, I sat down with Pastor Drew and another church employee. They told me I was the perfect applicant for the position and proceeded to ask me to tell them a little bit about myself. I told them I was a sophomore at Everett Community College with plans of transferring to Northwest University in Kirkland. After concluding the interview by shaking their hands I was told that I would find out in a week if I had gotten the Internship. I went home feeling confident about the whole scenario, praying that God would lead me in the right direction. I was getting ready later that day to go to work when I received a text from Pastor Drew saying it was pointless to wait a week to tell me if I had gotten the position because I was such a “stud”.  He then welcomed me to the EPIC program, let me tell you a little bit about it.

The EPIC program is a six-month Internship for students of Jesus, and stewards of influence. During these six months I will be obtaining hands on ministry experience in various areas of the church. I will be attending Leadership classes weekly along with Leadership retreats. One of these retreats will be down in California, at a conference called the Catalyst Conference.  At this conference I will get to hear from influential leaders that come from around the world.

These six months for me will be challenging, considering I will still be a full time college student and working at Costco part-time. But hey! Nothing worthwhile ever came easy. I’m at a point in my life where I’m ready to start sculpting my future. I truly believe God has called me to become a pastor, and I need to take a step of faith towards what I believe he is calling me to do.

This six-month internship is going to cost me $200 a month, which covers my traveling, expenses to the multiple retreats. Its no doubt that times are tough and money is tight, being such a young leader its hard to make that kind of financial commitment on top of all my other expenses. I’d like to extend two hands to you today, one is to shake your hand and welcome you to the next chapter of my life. The other hand is held out asking for some help, if you can help me out on this journey I will be forever grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about where my life is heading lately, and please feel free to send me a message back filling me in with what has been happening in your personal life lately, I’d love to catch up with all of you. And lastly Id like to invite you to come join us on a Sunday morning at the New Life Church in Everett WA. The Church has already taught me so much and I am ecstatic to see what my future holds within it.

Thank you.
