A national website to illuminate important issues and cast your vote.

There's a lot we need to know, from where is Wawa to why is winter so long.

But we also face serious issues, from the economy to the environment. How do we get off this crash-course? Hmmm ... first we need a country full of smart creative people ... wait ... I know this one! Together we can do a lot.

We need parents to sit with children to create a country that works for all of us. We need a website to describe Canada broadly and in detail, as a place where we can learn, take polls and vote on critical issues of common interest that often diverge from the interests of politicians and business. Together we can reshape and redirect Canada.

What will you get? A voice. A voice combined with many others to finally get privacy rights, food rights, environmental rights, all written into our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Folks, this is do-able.

Notes.

1) I spent the last 12 years developing an optical scanner. It uses visible light to probe the structure of molecules like insulin. This work required only a desk and determination. I worked small jobs to buy myself time and rarely earned more than $5k a year. I am very careful with money and do a lot with a little. But I see incredible waste in government.

2) The website will be structured like Wikipedia. Anything you need to know about the country. But it must also tackle tough issues. Like how to deal with a City Hall than writes laws to benefit itself and continually votes itself a larger slice of your pie. Clearly, the budget should be submitted to a citizens oversight group for approval.

3) Yes, Canadians can reshape Canada. You may notice in your personal life that you have no economic rights. Each level of government can simply take what it wants, forcing you into debt. Your basic right to exist should be protected. You have no privacy rights. You have no food rights. You have no environmental rights. The agenda of big business to use the land and its people to funnel massive wealth to a few is directly affecting you. Yet we Canadians own the land and its resources. We own the common currency. We have fundamental rights!
