Meet Jersey! She is a mix of Pit and Lab. We rescued Jersey from the local SPCA shelter 6 years ago. Animal Control found her drowning in a local canal and abused from her previous owner(s). The Animal control person that found her took her home because he realized how sweet she was and didnt want to have to put her down. Jersey stayed at their home until there was room for her at the SPCA. The SPCA took her in and she stayed there for two years until we met her at the local adoption event at the Petsmart facility. 

It was love at first sight. My husband sat down on the ground and she came and laid in his lap gave him kisses and shakes, and rolled to her back for a belly scratch.

We currently had another Lab at home that was 12 years old at the time. We wanted a dog that would be able to play with our son. They instantly made a bond and it has never been broken. We call Jersey our Angel dog because she always told us by barking if something was wrong with our lab. 

Our black lab (Sam) had a problem with seziures and it would make it to where he would lay on the ground and hit his head on what was around him. He developed a tumor on his head above his ear and one day while I was getting ready for work Jersey and Sam were outside enjoying the sun, and Jersey started barking....It wasnt a normal bark....It was a urgency bark. I went outside to see what was wrong and Sam was bleeding because the tumor had ruptured. I rushed him to the vet for surgery and he came out perfectly! If it wasnt for Jersey our Angel dog, Sam could have died. 

When Sam passed away 3 years ago Jersey became depressed. Almost a year ago we noticed that she would not eat, would not play, would not lift her head to acknowledge us. We knew something was wrong. We took her to the vet and they said that she had Diabetes. We have since then had to change her diet and give her insulin shots everyday twice a day for the past year. As much as it has put a strain on our wallet, we wouldnt do it any other way because she is family, and she is our angel dog. God brought us together for a reason! 

Due to Jersey having Diabetes her health has gone down hill faster than a normal dog. She is completly blind now, and she has lost a lot of weight. 

We need to get Jersey to the vet as soon as possible! She needs to be checked again for her blood sugar levels, her eyes, and her stomach. My fear is that if we cant get her to the vet she may not make it past Christmas. Our family would be heartbroken if this happens. Unforn. due to the economy and the Holidays we do not have the funds to get her the help she needs.
