Our family is so excited to start this amazing journey of adoption. JD and I have talked about adopting since before we were even engaged (8 years ago!). We both love the idea of looking around our kitchen table and seeing God's amazing ability to create so much beauty through diversity. We love the thought of reaching a soul we never would have known exsisted, of learning from this little person who's world was and would have continued to be so different from ours. Mostly, the thought of following the example of Christ, in loving the lost, lonely and broken. We can't wait to meet the littlest member of the Cobb family, the one we've thought of for 8 years and God pre-destined just for us. JD and I have 5 children. Our oldest girl I was blessed to "adopt" into my heart when I met and married her dad. I sometimes wonder if I fell in love with Kya first or her daddy. :) JJ came into our lives right before we married...a little peanut that took us a few years to finally be in our home. We are so blessed to have her! Sophie was born exactly one year after we were married and was our sunshine in a very hard year of losing my mom. We are so thankful for God's perfect timing. In February of 2009 we found out we were adding a little fella to our family! We were beyond excited but in God's providence, at full term, we lost him due to a full placental abruption. This was something that seemingly should have forever stunted our faith, love , and joy but God is good (always!) and instead used this to strengthen our marriage and our faith. He kindly gave us another precious life 17 months later and almost 2 years to the date our second son Thad was born. Having some complications again led the doctors to advise us to not have any more natural children. We believed this was the wisest choice for my health and our family and immediately talked about the fact that this could be God's way of opening our hearts and family for adoption! We are thankful for the peace and excitement we both feel as we start this process. Thank you for your prayers, support and love for our family, past and present!!!
