Abby is a chihuahua mix who was being walked on leash by her owners, when a vicious dog came running out of it's house and into the street and attacked her. The attacker ripped her skin and muscles off her back, and it was later realized that it had pierced her chest causing a lung to collapse and several broken ribs. She was in critical condition at Veterinary Care Specialists in Milford, MI. After two days, and thinking she was going to make it...she passed away.   Her care came to $5600.

This was a rescue dog. Friendly, loving, who would never hurt a soul. Her owners are retired and although they gave her the best care, spayed her, had dental work done, bought her the healthiest food... they were not financially prepared for this. They will sue. They will hold the owner of the attacker responsible. But right now the money is due to the wonderful emergency vet that tried to save Abby.

Please do what ever you can to help this loving, responsible couple get through this financial hardship. Any help offered will go to pay for her vet bills and be donated to this emergency veterinary hospital or placed in a fund for the next attack victim in need of care.  Any money won, months down the road will either be donated to the vet or placed in a fund to help another animal in need of emergency help.
