Keys for Kids is a program designed by Rachel to give children a chance to learn to play the piano, even if their family can't afford lessons.

Here's how the program works: Rachel will donate piano lessons by giving a "scholarship" to qualifying children at a reduced rate or no charge, depending on the situation. Keys for Kids will provide a used keyboard bought from craigslist, music stores, individuals/garage sales, and any other means possible. In order to learn more than just basic piano, the keyboards need to include "touch sensitive" or "weighted keys", therefore these keyboards can be rather expensive, even used*. The typical cost for a used basic keyboard with weighted keys is roughly $300-$400. Your donations will help fund the purchase of one of these keyboards. If a hundred people give only $10.00 each, that would potentially fund three or more keyboards. Whatever amount you can give would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small!!

Aloha United Methodist Church has volunteered to handle the donations and ensure that the money is used properly.

Thank you so very much for your consideration toward this heartfelt cause!

*a less expensive keyboard can be used for the very beginning, but if the child is to continue for more than a few months of lessons and learning, he/she would need weighted keys.
