Our newest foster, Princess, has had a tough life to this point. In just the last 2 months, she went from living with the only family she knew (a homeless person), to spending 2 months at the animal control shelter, then an overnight at Paws and Claws HS, and now is safe in her foster home. We really want to give Princess the chance to have the wonderful life she SO deserves. However, Princess went to the vet this afternoon. Dr. Scott gave me a call and Princess is going to need some fairly significant vet work prior to her adoption. She needs some bloodwork done to check her thyroid function, and then we can come up with a game plan for her weight loss, as this poor girl needs to drop about 30 pounds! This has to happen before she can be spayed, because otherwise the docs feel it's too risky to put her under anesthesia at her age/weight. Then she will need a second operation to remove her mammary tumors, which Dr. Scott believes to be benign as they don't show any signs of inflammation at this point. As you are all aware, vet costs are NOT cheap-so we are asking for your help! If anyone could donate to help this sweet girl find her way, would be very appreciative.
