Matt's dog, Scout, needs knee surgery; he is scheduled for December 6, 2012. We are trying to raise money to help offset the cost of his surgery, therapy, and boarding. Any extra money will be donated to no kill shelters affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Several weeks ago, Scout came down with a prominent limp that the vet determined to be a destroyed ACL. Coincidentally, Matt suffered the same fate a
year earlier, almost to the day. As many of you know Scout loves to be outside as much as he can, either chasing squirrels or rabbits, laying in the sun, or going on one of his 'adventures.' Yes, Scout is very much like his owner. :-)

Matt is currently deployed to Afghanistan and can't be with Scout as he goes through this ordeal. Luckily, Matt's parents and friend Laura will be taking care of Scout. However, Scout needs specialty boarding after the surgery to replace his bandages, physical therapy, and general care.

Scout has been through a lot, both on his own and as a loved one of an active duty Army Officer. While stationed at Fort Bragg, Matt rescued him from a shelter where he was found abandoned in a pea field in North Carolina. Since then, Scout has gone through many trials including -- risky heart worm treatment, a year long separation when Matt was deployed to Afghanistan, traveling up and down the Eastern Seaboard with Matt as his military assignments changed, and now Scout is enduring yet another deployment.

Every little bit will help Scout get through this ordeal, thank you!
