Sunday night at 6:10 pm, Russ and Sarah Lewis gave the ultimate sacrifice. They held their 4 day old son in their arms and let him go. Tyrus Maxwell Lewis was born a healthy and vibrant little man on September 26th and was sent home from the hosptital 2 days later with a clean bill of health. The next day, Sarah was changing the little man's diaper when she noticed blood and then realized little Tyrus was turning blue. They rushed him to the hospital and were life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital where they immediately operated to try and repair intestinal damage. When they got inside, they realized the damage was irreversible and so they stitched him back up and put him on life support to allow his family time to say goodbye. Tyrus was removed from life support and expected to live for only a few minutes, but their little gladiator fought for nearly an entire day, then peacefully passed away in his daddy's arms at 6:10 pm. As a family, we witnessed the sacrifice and the pain of a young couple losing their baby and it was the most painful and touching thing we have ever witnessed. Now we are rallying around them and trying to help with the aftermath. While little Tyrus is now gone, the medical bills and unexpected funeral costs are not, and for this young couple, newly graduated, this is more than they can bear alone. The last thing they need in their lives right now is the financial burden to top in all off. Please be generous. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, but if you are able to, please donate generously to this very worthy cause. The money goes directly into Rustin's paypal account and will surley help to ease the burden.
