Friends and supporters, I am personally reaching out to ask for help.
Many of you will know Richard, my husband and greatest supporter
during my 16 years in cat rescue. If you’ve followed my cat rescue
site you might know we’ve been through a few extremely financially
challenging years. One year ago Richard went for X-rays and an MRI of
his knees as he had great difficulty walking due to knee pain. It was
advised that he had double knee surgery, but at the time we simply
didn’t have the money and being in his mid 70’s, we can’t get a health
insurance here in Greece that would cover his surgery.
It is now a year later and Richard is no longer able to walk due to the extreme pain in his knees. He needs surgery on his worst knee asap and I am asking for your support in helping us raise the 6,000€ needed to see him through the first knee surgery.
Richard has always been more of a background figure in the 16 years of rescue work but he was the devoted chauffeur during the first many years (until his major heart surgery in 2017), cat cuddler and champion of the ‘broken souls’ - and he’s the one that ensures that the GLP team are fed every day - without fail! Richard has had his own favourite rescues (the beaten up ones!) and I’ve got so many cherished photos of Richard with them from our years in rescue.
Richard is really deserving of having this surgery to be free of living in chronic pain - can you help, even with a small donation?
