Gregory Stovetop is a self-taught songwriter from Chelsea, Michigan blending cosmic folk with rock ’n’ roll soul. His albums The Good Stuff and Hot Stuff explore love, transformation, and human truth. Influenced by Paul Westerberg, Tom Petty, and Pat Benatar, he's currently recording an acoustic project full of stripped-down heart and spirit.

Hello family!! My name is  Gregory Stovetop, and I’ve spent the last 10 years carving out my place as a rock musician. Loud guitars, big drums, sweat, and grit — that’s the world you probably know me from. 

But underneath all of that, there’s always been  the songwriter.

Before the amps, before the distortion pedals, it was just me, a notebook, and an acoustic guitar in a Michigan basement — trying to capture timeless songs that bring more love and self-reflection into the world.

So for this project,
Mirror,
I want my lyrics to be the focus. I want to be vulnerable. I want to reach people’s hearts.

WHY THIS ALBUM MATTERS

This record will be recorded in Nashville with the incredible producer and bass player  Dominic Davis (Jack White). He always knows exactly what to do with my songs.

It will be recorded in its simplest form so the focus stays where it belongs:
the lyrics, the emotion, and the craft of songwriting.
No walls to hide behind. No production tricks. No noise to mask the truth.

This album is a way to reconnect with the roots of why I started making music in the first place — in that damp, magical basement off the dirt roads of Chelsea, Michigan.

WHAT MAKES THIS RECORD SPECIAL

It’s my  FIRST EVER acoustic album.

It reveals a side of my voice and writing that most people haven’t heard.

The songs feel like  journal entries and poems of transformation.

I’m recording it with absolute intention — no filler, no fluff.
