I study plants, crops and types of soils. I apply my knowledge and practical experience to learn how plants capture the free nitrogen in the soil and atmosphere and convert it into the basic units of life: proteins, lipids, nucleic acids and carbohydrates.
I work with cowpeas (Vigna unguiculate
[L]). Cowpeas have become a very important crop
plant as it is a great source of high-quality protein.
Many third world countries lack sources of protein. That causes many health problems.
Cowpeas are indeed a great alternative source of proteins for poor
countries and for people that are limited from essential nutrients due
to religious abstinence or ideals.
I invite you to cooperate
with my cause. My research helps develop proper strategies to prevent
hunger, and aid to obtain food security for the decades to come.
The instruments and materials belong to me as a research
scientist, not to any institution, and they will be employed in many
exciting scientific projects to come under my supervision.
