We are the People's Defense League-South Louisiana. We are a  socialist community defense organization in that provides mutual aid, community defense trainings, and political education for working class people free of charge. 

We are continuing this Fundrazr because we want to start a regular food security program for working people in our communities. We call it the People's Grocery Program. We were really amazed by the support of our community for our Fred Hampton Fundrazr, and now are asking our community to contribute with the same enthusiasm and urgency to Serve the People. Thousands of folx in New Orleans and South Louisiana are going to be at risk of being food insecure with the upcoming cuts to SNAP in April by the ruling class. This is class warfare, and we as socialists cannot stand idly by as the ruling class wages austerity warfare upon the people. Through this struggle, we aim to grow the consciousness of the communities of which we are a party, through solidarity and struggle. 

Our goal, is that by April 1st, we will have raised $500 in funds for staple groceries. We would like to begin by helping provide food aid to 25 families, and expand to 50, at a bi-weekly basis. We are also collecting donations at collection points in our community, so if you'd like to pitch in, by donating or by volunteering, DM us!
