Hi everyone. As you may know, I'm working for a Small Professional Theatre as an apprentice right now. Although I am working over 50 hours a week as an administrative assistant, casting director, box office, website admin, and assistant director ... More ...

As you may know, I'm working for a Small Professional Theatre as an apprentice right now, hopefully the starting point of my career as a theatre artist. Although I am working over 50 hours a week as an administrative assistant, casting director, box office, website admin, and assistant director of community partnerships, as well as being the assistant director on productions, I am being paid about $100 quarterly, along with housing. Such is the living of being a young person in the arts. In order to make ends meet I have been working graveyard shifts once or twice a week, which require me to work for about 20 hours straight (did I mention no days off ever?).

My birthday is on the 29th, and I am asking for help. I am asking for the ability to rest for 8 hours every night. I am asking for the ability to grow as a theatre professional by fully committing myself to the work, and not being distracted by my desperate need for outside jobs and money, or utter exhaustioin. I am asking for a small safety net in case I need to make a co pay this year. Any kind of gift you guys can make would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to see exactly what kind of work I'm doing, go to portlandplayhouse.org (which I helped create) portlandplayhouse.tumblr.com (which I created and run), portlandplayhouse on instagram (which I run), or Portland Playhouse on facebook (which I have nothing to do with).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please feel free to share my small campaign.
