Sweet shy and sensitive Sheila  who was recently adopted from Tara’s House Animal Rescue after 5 long months in boarding and 2 foster homes needs heart Surgery to extend her life. This poor girl clearly suffered a great deal of abuse in her previous life before she was rescued. Just look at those huge "please love me" eyes. She spent her first 2 months at BARCS Animal Shelter and was then taken into rescue at Tara’s House where she spent time in 2 loving foster homes. She was not an easy dog to find a home for, as she was very skittish and afraid.  In the  beginning when anyone came near her she would cower and hide, terrified of being hit.  She was even afraid of her food bowl and eating, ( something that brings great pleasure to most dogs!)

Now that she is in her forever home she is getting more comfortable with people, and loves her doggie brother and cat siblings.  She seems to know she is finally SAFE!  Poor Sheila came to Tara's House with a number of injuries and has had a long medical history to get her healthy while in foster. She had an eye surgery for a detached retina and it was recently also discovered that she has a serious life threatening heart murmur. She had an EKG and x-ray' of her heart and it was determined she needed a consult with a cardiologist. She needs heart surgery or else she will not live for more than 1-2 yrs. All costs including the consult are a little over $4,500.

Her new amazing human parents loved her at first sight, and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep her alive, but will have to resort to charging the procedure. Some good Samaritans donated $1,865 so far. Her new parents do not want to ask for money as she is now their dog, but as one of her former foster mom's  I want to help them as much as possible.  They are doing so much to support Tara’s House  and our other dogs in need by organizing an online auction which should bring in thousands of dollar for many other dogs in need, not their own.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated, every $ adds up. Thanks so much for your consideration!  It's greatly appreciated!
